· Trimester 2 Progress Reports have been mailed! If you do not receive your copy by Friday, January 29th please contact Ms. Vurusic to confirm your mailing address. The Lion’s Roar newsletter was included in the mailing and can be found by clicking: Newsletter Volume 1, Issue 3 and on the Newsletter page will all of our back issues.

· The Winter MAP testing window will be from February 8th through February 19th. While MRA and our families are constantly working together to ensure success for our scholars, please pay particular attention to getting students to school on time during this time period to ensure they receive a healthy breakfast to kickstart their day. Students have been working hard with staff to set new goals for this session of the MAP tests in order to “raise the bar” academically. If you have any questions about the use of the MAP test, please feel free to contact Ms. Green at the main office number.

· There will be NO SCHOOL on February 15th for a Mid-Semester Break.

· MRA Living History Musuem presents Literature & Music Through the Decades on Wednesday, February 24th for MRA families and Thursday, February 25th for fundraising guests. Admission is free, however we welcome your contribution of a new fiction, non-fiction, biography or autobiography book to help build our catalog of resources for our future library/media center.

· Winter Uniform Reminder: Students are not permitted to wear coats, jackets or hoodies in class. The only acceptable form of outwear permitted with school polo shirts is a plain black or burgundy sweater. No patterns or hoods will be permitted in classrooms or hallways. Please refer to the Student & Family Handbook for specifics in regards to the MRA uniform policy (ie: no black jeans, no head scarves, etc.).

· Check out the For PARENTS page for electronic versions of the 2009-2010 Curriculum Guide for each grade level. Hard copies of the Curriculum Guides were sent home with students on Monday, October 5th. Please ask your student for this copy for your reference throughout the school year.
